These appointments are not intended for urgent care or as a replacement for your ongoing relationship with a primary care provider.

This 60-minute virtual or in-person consultation is designed for individuals seeking clarity, guidance and support in navigating complex or chronic health concerns.

As a specialist General Practitioner, Dr Michaelia provides a comprehensive assessment focused on understanding your health history, refining diagnosis where appropriate and developing personalised management strategies.

This is a private consultation. Medicare rebates may be available to Australian-based patients who have seen Dr Michaelia in person within the past 12 months.

This 30-minute virtual or in-person consultation is available to existing patients who have previously completed an initial consultation with Dr Michaelia.

Follow-up appointments focus on reviewing progress, refining management strategies, addressing new or evolving concerns and providing ongoing guidance where appropriate.

This is a private consultation. Medicare rebates may be available to Australian-based patients who have seen Dr Michaelia in person within the past 12 months.

Document Upload Guidelines

To help make the most of your consultation time with Dr Michaelia, please ensure all pre-consultation forms are completed and any investigation results you would like reviewed are uploaded to your PracticeBetter portal in the “Documents” section.

• Please upload documents as grouped PDF files by category, rather than multiple individual files. For example:

  Pathology (blood tests) – one combined file

  Imaging reports – one combined file

  Specialist letters – one combined file

• Please do not upload individual test results as separate files, as this significantly increases review time and may mean they are not able to be reviewed prior to or during your appointment.

• Where possible, only upload your most recent results, or earlier results if there is a significant abnormality relevant to your care.

• Label each file clearly using the following naming convention:
  yyyy.mm.dd – summary (e.g. Bloods: FBC, UEC, LFT, Vitamin D / Imaging: MRI Brain / Specialist Letters)

• Please ensure all scans or photos are clear and easily readable before uploading.

• Documents should be uploaded at least 72 hours prior to your appointment to allow adequate time for review.

Please note that documents not uploaded in line with these guidelines may not be reviewed prior to or during your session.

Your preparation helps ensure we can focus your consultation on what matters most.

For eligible patients, Medicare rebates may be available for consultations. To be eligible, you must have been seen in-person by Dr Michaelia within the past 12 months. Once this requirement is met, rebates can be applied to both in-person and telehealth consultations.

As of 2026, the following rebates apply:

• $202.65 rebate for >60-minute appointments
• $84.90 rebate for 30-minute appointments

Once you reach certain out-of-pocket thresholds under the Medicare Safety Net, you may be entitled to higher rebates, meaning you receive more back for eligible services depending on your individual circumstances. Threshold amounts are set each year from 1 January.

For patients based outside of Australia, Dr Michaelia offers virtual coaching sessions.

These sessions are designed to help you:

• better understand your symptoms

• work towards clarifying a diagnosis of POTS or MCAS

• understand approaches to management beyond medications alone.

You will receive guidance, education and a suggested management framework to review and implement in collaboration with your primary physician.

Unfortunately Dr Michaelia is unable to order testing or prescribe medications outside of Australia.

All coaching sessions are private, with no Medicare or insurance rebates available.
